Robin was troubled, that was much was painfully obvious. He had always prided himself on taking care of his problems on his own, but who in the hell would have forseen THIS kind of problem? He had gone through a lot...kicked out of his home at ten, he nearly starved to death before discovering he had a special talent as a thief. His merry band came soon after and he thought he was content....there were problems, but he was happy.
That happiness grew when he met and married Marian. She, the daughter of a nobleman was the least likely of mates for him, but she fell in love with him, and he with her, and they were again, happy. He nearly lost her once, but fate had intervened and he had stayed by her side as she not only lived, but gave him a son as well.
His world had come crashing down when he finally did lose her, but fate again stepped in when Regina entered his life.
And that was where his current troubles started. He never thought it was possible, but he had fallen totally, and completely in love with the former evil queen. And though he had told her otherwise, he was more in love with her than she was his own wife.
So here he sat alone in a booth in Granny's, hands around a cup of coffee contemplating. He needed answers. He needed to know what to do, but so far, those answers were eluding him. He had no one to talk to. He certainly could not bring this up to either woman in his life, and talking to Little John was little better than speaking to a wall,. but the need to talk was nearly overwhelming him.

Emma had gone into Granny's to get herself a cheeseburger and fries for lunch. There had been so much going on that she really did not have the energy or patience to cook for herself. So Granny's it was. She had given her order and sat at the bar. There was not too large of a lunch crowd today. Large enough to miss Robin Hood when she first arrived, but not large enough to miss home now that she was looking about.
The guilt slid in and dug its claws into her as she watched the lone male. His wife and child were no where in sight and she saw no evidence they were there with him at the table.
Sighing heavily, the blonde slid off of her perch on the stool and made her way over to Hood's table. She did not sit nor did she mince words. "I'm sorry. Not for bringing your wife back... but for you and Regina. You two were really happy together and the last thing I wanted was to mess with that and put you all in a difficult situation."

Robin's thoughts were interrupted by a female voice. Even before he looked up, he knew who it was, and to be honest, he was not sure he wanted to talk to Emma Swan. On one hand, she did being his wife back to life...in a way. But on the other hand, by doing so, he was keeping him from his true love..something he felt deep down in his heart.
Still, he had no other better options. Besides, he could use the company. Hell, maybe Emma could shed some light on the current situation. It couldn't hurt. He waved he over to the seat across from him.
"Have a seat Swann", he said in a voice he hoped conveyed sincerity, but more likely dripped of resentment. "You may as well do something a bit more useful than attempting to complicate my love life", albeit unintentionally".
Robin normally stayed away from outright insulting people, it was beneath him, but in this situation, he made an exception.

"Right, I deserved that." She groused softly as the guilt speared her again. It was no surprise to hear resentment in his tone. Regina certainly resented her for what she had done so it was no surprise that Hood would feel the same. In an odd way it was heartwarming because it told her that the honourable thief did truly return Regina's feelings.
Sinking into the booth, Emma was still stiff. At first she could not bring herself to look at him. Then she swallowed her tremulous feelings and lifted her chin to at least make an attempt to meet his eyes. "I wouldn't have changed what I did. Saving her, bringing her back here. I'm just sorry it cost you and Regina... But it doesn't have to."
'This was harder than I thought it would be,' The upset saviour thought to herself. "I know what's it like - being torn between duty and love, even if my experience with it was certainly different... I don't know what true love is, even with me being the supposed product of it, but what you and Regina had, have... It's something alright." A heavy sign left her lips as she ran a hand through her hair. "Have you talked to her about it? Your wife?"

Robin knew he could be a bit dense at times, but even he could hear the guilt in Emma's voice as she sat down across from him. It made him feel a little guilty over the way he had addressed her, but just a little. He still felt that she deserved at least a little of his scorn.
After she sat, no one spoke for what seemed like an eternity, but in reality, was probably just a few seconds. He prided himself on being being able to read a person's body language...it was one of the things that made him a good thief. Looking at the blond woman across from him now, he could tell that she was very, very uncomfortable, as evidenced by her still posture.
When she suddenly made her confession, he was caught a bit off guard. Both by the suddenes of it and the sincerity. She really meant it.If he was honest with himself, he not only believed her, but had those same thoughts himself. It was this, more than anything, that made him feel even more guilty over the way he had treated her.
He took a deep breath and spoke.
"I...I don't blame you, as hard as that is to believe. Hell, I admire your courage to save the life of a woman you didn't know. I would have done the same thing I think".
He paused before speaking again.
"I have not spoken to Marian about this yet. How does one even start a conversation like that? I mean, I can't just say...I know we are married, but I am in love with someone else...oh, she happens to be the Evil Queen that had you killed".
He gulped down the last of his coffee, savoring the burning feeling in his throat.
"Yeah, THAT will go over really well I'm sure".
