Emma Swan
PERSONALITY Emma is damaged by her past and does not trust or hope easily. Since she has almost always been alone she sometimes finds it difficult to be around others or trust them and has a bit of a soft spot for the underdog. She is a strong and aggressive woman with a bit of a temper, but beneath that she is loyal and caring. It is not easy for her to let someone in, but when she does, she will protect them with her entire being, even if it means her life. When she lets herself care about someone, she does it whole heartedly. This being the case, if she is betrayed she takes it hard. Despite being extremely logical, Emma tends to react to things that she does not understand fully with anger. Her actions tend to be both rash and calculated and there are times when she over-thinks them. She also tends to doubt herself often, as the saviour as well as a mother to Henry. HISTORY Emma Swan is the firstborn daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, shortly before the curse cast by the Evil Queen rolled through the fairytale land. Thanks to a wardrobe carved from a magic tree by Gepetto, she escaped the curse along with Pinocchio. Without any parents, Emma and Pinocchio ended up in state custody in a orphanage. Emma grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home, without knowing who her parents are or who she really is. At the age of eighteen, Emma Swan met Neal Cassidy during a car theft. They fell and love and traveled together for a while until they decided it was time to settle down. Picking a random place on the map, they were planning on making Tallahassee their new home. The two ended up splitting with Neal turning Emma in to the cops. She spent time in jail for the watches that Neal had stolen and later gave birth to Henry, her son with Neal, who she gave away in a closed adoption since she felt inadequate as a mother. Neal did not know about his son until after the curse was broken a decade after their split. Emma did not find out that Pinocchio had convinced Neal to leave Emma so she could fulfill their destiny. Although the two had feelings for each other, it was too late for them to pursue it and Emma was still too hurt by the past to give it another shot. While celebrating her 28th birthday alone, Emma was interrupted by the appearance of Henry - truthfully claiming himself to be the son she gave up. At his insistence, she ends up in Storybrooke. She ended up staying to be close to her son, even though she did not believe him when he told her who she was and about the dark curse. In time she broke the curse by giving Henry True Love's Kiss when he was under a sleeping spell. Since then she struggles with her identity as the saviour and has trouble coming to terms with that, magic, and the fact that many things she thought up as fairy tales were real. After spending a year in New York with false memories that she had never given Henry up, she is brought back to a cursed again Storybrooke by Hook who restored her memories with a memory potion. Although she helps uncover and defeat the Wicked Witch Zelena, Emma misses New York and the life that she had lived there with Henry. She misses the normalcy where she did not have the pressure of being the saviour. Planning on returning home Hook, who is in love with her and who she has some denied feelings for, attempts to remind of of why she would stay. During this moment, a beam of light leads the pair to the time portal that Zelena created which sucked them both into the past. After an accident ruins the meeting of her parents, forcing her and Hook to put the timeline back on track. During her time in the past rectifying her mistake, Emma nearly cases her mother to die and her relief to see her alive made her realize that she had been making her mother suffer - which makes her realize Henry did not bring her to Storybrooke to break the curse. He brought her there to bring her home. This changes her mind about leaving Storybrooke. The revelation and decision to return home to Storybrooke and stay there returns herher magic which helped open the portal to bring her and Hook back to the present, but her time in the past has affected the present and opened Storybrooke up to a new threat. At least Emma is finally home and with her family and the power of true love, they can overcome anything that come their way. RP SAMPLE Scrambled eggs, whipped to be fluffy and cooked in a hot non-stick pan. Crispy bacon piled along side warm toast. A chilly glass of milk to drain it all down. A normal breakfast for a hopefully normal day. That was Emma's thought, her hope, as she sat down to eat breakfast with her son. Everything seemed to be going well until her walkie-talkie came to life with a crackle. "Looks like duty calls, kid." Emma offered him a wry smile before grabbing the device and confirming that she was on her way. She grabbed her bacon and gave Henry a hug before rushing off to grab her leather jacket and get out the door. "Here's hoping it's just a drunk driver and not some kind of weird magical creature like the chupacabra or a hydra..." In Storybrooke a car crashed into a tree could be normal, but could easily be something out of a fairytale. So she took a deep breath and got into her yellow bug to drive to the scene of the accident with that concern at the forefront of her mind. |
